Our Story

In 2018 Cody began managing the family farm with little farming experience – and that’s a good thing. Farming in Virginia holds a rich heritage, but Cody’s new perspectives brought ingenuity to the storied traditions of cattle ranching. Therein lies the genesis of Berkeley Beef.

We specialize in providing our local community with beef products minus the bad stuff (antibiotics, growth hormones, etc. – you get it)! Our aim is to deliver quality beef straight from our farm to your table. Berkeley Beef tastes good, is good for you, and is good for sustainable agriculture.

At Berkeley Farm, we use regenerative farming methods such as rotational (mob) grazing that coordinates the health and potential of our pastures with the clean diets of our cattle. We excel to make sure our animals are cared for wholistically – thereby enhancing the final product. These methods not only prioritize the animals & the land, but ultimately you – the consumer.

Berkeley Farm’s operations would not be possible without the team Cody has surrounded himself with. Chet grew up in small-town Virginia where his family raised pigs – giving him agricultural experience and an affection for livestock. His caregiving and watchful protection of our herds have made him Berkeley’s cattle operations expert. Rigel comes from South Dakota with a familiarity with ranching, hunting, and conservation. He brings logistical support and planning to Berkeley’s operations.
